Son of Bernard Cooke and Bessie May (nee Howland) Cooke; brother of Clair Bernard Cooke,
After the war Albert (Bert) and his family moved to a farm on the Coles Spence Road in the Lower South East of South Australia. After he retired he resided in Naracoorte.
Bert was a long time member of the RSL received a certificate for over 50 years continous membership
