Membership book indicates that he enlisted in WW1 but no service number recorded. Living at Glenelg North 1958, no indication he had been a member elswhere prior to this date. North Glenelg Department Veterans Affairs Homes where built in the late 1950's when the ban on building new homes using harvested wood was lifted; after the war building materials like wood were shipped to England to help them rebuild and no materials were made available to Australians.
