Joined the RSl 1947 at tea Tree Gully stayed until 1949 when he moved to Port Lincoln 1949-52.  In 1952 transfered to Wanilla, he serveve on the executive  as President 1974,75,76,77; Vice President 1998,99; Immediate Pasr President 1978;  and on the Committee 1970,73,75,80,81,96,97. In 2001he had been a member for over 50 years when he was awarded a Life Membership for his services to the RSL.  He was also a member of the local Country Fire Service for 30 years and a member of the Agricultural Bureau.
