Donald Arthur Caller was Born in 1917 South Australia on May 28 in the little town of Welland. As a boy he attended Croydon High School and after he left school he went on to work in retail managment. He was married.

On the 15th of August 1942 he enlisted in theAarmy and served as a Lieutenant for 3 years and was discharged on November 20th 1945. During those 3 years in the Army he was sent to New Guinea (Bougainville) but spent most of his time in Darwin.
