Colin Roy Angel SX26136 formerly S7286

Colin was born 22 March 1923 at Balaklava, the son of Stanley Roy Angel and Ivy Florence Smith.

He enlisted 21 October 1942, six months after his father. Locality of enlistment, Whitwarta, place of enlistment was Puckapunyal Victoria. Rank: Trooper. Date of discharge 23 October 1945 and posting at discharge HQ 1 Australia Armoured Brigade GP.

Extract from Equestrian SA website “Colin joined the army, the 9th/23rd Light horse in Jan 1942 and he was like many who raised his age to join up. (And it took 60 years for the Australia Government to catch up to that fact and asked him to change his year of birth on his driver’s license!!!). He spent his time in the army in WA and further north before being discharge from the army on 22nd October 1945”

Colin married Elvee Atkinson on 30 August 1945 at Balaklava Methodist Church.

Colin’s life is outlined in the articles from the Stock Journal and Equestrian SA

Colin died 22 October 2005, age 82, buried at Carinya Cremation, Mount Gambier.
