Son of Mr and Mrs J CHATCART, of Magill Road, Norwood, SA.  James was residing at 41 Glyde Street, Kensington and employed on construction work at the Salisbury Munitions Factory. Educated at Magill and Thebarton Technical Schools he followed all sport and played football for Magill Royals. Fond of cricket and swimming he was a member of the Henley Life-Saving Club.  He enlisted in January 1942.
