Dad my own hero.
Dad joined the light horse in 1942 he trained through the mountain in Qld all through the glass house mountain and eventually sent back to packapunual. He was staying in the 13th barracks and there was a call to all men except for dads regiment to move to Darwin NT and where they were all killed. From that day the number 13 was his lucky number.
In his training he became the breaker of the light horses. Then latter he became the teacher of the mortar bomb assembly and then was transfered to the armored devision and was tought morse code in the tanks. 1944 he got a call that his mum and dad were very ill was granted perminant leave and ran the farm from then on.
