Mr. Pearson saw the change over of the 3rd Light Horse; to its new role as a motor regiment, and later went to the 2/4th Armoured Regiment. This unit served in Queensland, New Guinea and Bougainville and Mr. Pearson was transport corporal during these campaigns.
Their tanks were the first used against the Japanese in the Solomon Islands.
A printer and compositor before he went away, Mr. Pearson returned to take up this work again in February of this year. Married while on leave in 1942 Mr. Pearson is living with his wife in Krummel Street, Mount Gambier.
