Sapper Frederick Price (Service No:SX18259) enlisted in the Army on 7 April 1942 as a Private attached to 6th Army Troop Coy and served in Darwin NT from 15 April 1945 to 12 February 1945. Sapper Price was attached to 10 Australian Troops Coy at Discharge on 26 September 1945.

Born in 1918 in Broken Hill NSW, Frederick Norman (Fred) was the third of six children of Frederick Price Snr (b1895 in Broken Hill, NSW) and Florence Dorothy Irene Dillon (b1895 in Broken Hill, NSW). Fred Snr (a Miner) and Florence married in 1917 in Broken Hill where they settled and raised their family and Fred Snr was a Miner.

Fred worked as a Miner in Broken Hill where, in 1936, he married Margreeta (Reeta) Opie (b1918 in Broken Hill, NSW). Fred and Reeta settled in Broken Hill where Fred worked as a Miner before enlisting in Wayville, South Australia in 1942 - giving his Occupation as Fitter on his Attestation Papers. Following his Discharge, Fred and Reeta remained in Broken Hill where Fred worked as a Miner and Timber Man. Fred died in 1985 and Reeta in 1998.
