Biography contributed by Jill Swann

Ted Blieschke grew up on his family's farm, mid-way between Melrose and Murraytown in South Australia.

Following his WWII service, he married Marjorie Farrell, and they had three children. Ted lived and worked on the farm until his retirement to Victor Harbor in 1983. He had great success in breeding and showing Merino sheep, and their wool, at district agricultural shows. Ted was active in the RSL, and numerous other community and sporting organisations. His retirement activities included wood-turning, gardening, and most of all - bowls - right up until his death in his 94th year.
