Son of the late Mr and Mrs G.H. TILLEY of Shepherdsons Road, Moorak via Mount Gambier.  Educated at Mt. Gambier Public School he was fond of cycling and swimming. He was also interested in Poultry farming and First Aid.  A Plasterer in civilian life, he was married to Lonie Edna TILLEY with three sons and residing at Moorak.  William enlisted in March 1942 in the Medical Unit.
