Son of Mr and Mrs Charles William John FISHER of 41 Simpson Street, Solomontown, SA.  Brother to W.M. FISHER, RAN.  Educated at Port Pirie West Public School, Cyril took an interest in cricket, football and swimming.  He was Captain of the Solomontown Junior Football Club in 1940.  A painter in civilian life he enlisted in February 1942 and served in Australia.
