Son of Mrs L and the late Mr J.G.F. DAY of Queen Street, Alberton, SA.
Husband of Gladys Ruth DAY, 28 Verdun Street, North Kensington, SA.
Married with one child, Lancelot was educated at Woodville and Cheltenham Schools and was a keen follower of football. A stonecutter by trade for many years he later transferred to the fellmongery department of G.H. Michell & Sons, and then joined Pilkington Bros. Armour Plate Glass Factory as a finisher on armour plate glass. He enlisted in December 1941.
