Son of Mr and Mrs T.H. O'CALLAGHAN of 10 York Street, Kensington, SA. Educated at Winkie, River Murray, and gained his Q.C. he was fond of sport and played football. In civil life he worked on Fruit Blocks in the River Murray for several years and then went to Richards Body Works and later as a driver for Bulter McHugh. He enlisted in July 1941 and served in the Middle East in Palestine and Syria.
