2/7th Field Regiment Family Connection
Henry Daniel (Dick) Dadds was the eldest son of Charles and Ella (nee Jury) Dadds. On enlistment he was assigned to the 2/7th Field Regiment.
His younger brothers, James Jury and Frank were also assigned to this Regiment.
James (Jim) was married to Nellie Elizabeth (nee Horsnell) and they had 3 young sons. Nell's younger brother Victor Cuthbert (Bill) Horsnell was a member the Regiment too.
Jim died of wounds received during the battle of El Alamein in 1942.
After his discharge in January 1946 Dick married Jim's widow, Nell.
They had a son in November 1946. They named him James J Dadds in memory of their husband and brother.
