Uncle Pat
My Great Uncle Pat was born on 5 December 1911 in Kanowna, Western Australia. His parents were Patrick Carey (13 May 1862-1 April 1917) and Elizabeth Carey, nee Houston (13 July 1873-6 December 1954).
He had five siblings, Elizabeth Ann Robina Carey (Ruby Hentschke), Catherine Maude Carey (Kate Hentschke), John Thomas Carey, James McKenzie Carey (Jim) and Mary Grace Carey.
He was the much loved uncle of 6 nieces and nephews and quite a number of great nieces and nephews.
We remember Uncle Pat with a great deal of affection, he loved his family, fishing and vegetable gardening in his later years. He passed away in Adelaide on 24 January 1996 and is buried at the West Terrace Cemetary.
