Son of Mrs. M. THOMPSON of Kalgoorlie, WA. Married with five children, John was residing at 61 Alpha Street, Solomontown when he enlisted in April 1941. He was fond of football and worked at the B.H.A. Smelters at Port Pirie. At the age of 16 he fought in the Great War in the 44th Battalion for two years. He has served in the Middle East and Palestine in WW2.
