Son of Mrs A and the late O BAKER of Lameroo, SA.  Educated at Lameroon Public School, Vic was fond of sport and played football for Lameroo.  Residing at 18a Second Avenue, Forrestville, SA, he was a fitter's mate at the I.CI. Works in Osborne.  Enlisting in March 1941 he left for overseas in the April.  He saw swervice in Tobruk where he was wounded on 3rd August 1941 and spent 7 months in hosptial.  Returning to duty he was then taken prisoner of war, presumably in Italy.
