Charles Keith ASHENDEN was born in Aldgate, South Australia on 27th January 1921
His parents were Alfred Thomas ASHENDEN & Ellen Maud KEITH who married in the Methodist Church in Bridgewater on 8th November, 1911
He married Thelma Olive DAVIS on 1st June 1943 in the Newland Town Congregational Church, SA - 5 known children, Robert, Marjorie, John, Nina & Dianne
He enlisted in the Army on 4th February, 1941 and was discharged on 11th July, 1945 as a Private with the 2nd/43 Infantry Battalion
Charles died in Eudunda, SA on 3rd August, 1977

Details of war service for his parents & brothers
Mother Ellen Maud was in the Australian Womens Land Army (Personnel) during WW2 and was discharged on 29th December, 1946
His father Alfred Thomas served during WW1 (SN 2106) with the 10th Infantry Battalion and the 3rd Infantry Brigade Headquarters and returned to Australia on 9th March, 1919
He also served during WW2 (SN S407) and was discharged on 6th September, 1941 as a Private in the 18 Garrison Battalion
4 of his brothers also served during WW2
