Son of Mrs Ada and the late E McDONALD, of 72 West Street, Brompton, SA.  Educated at Broken Hill and Brompton Public Schools, Ronald was fond of reading and followed racing.  In civilian life he worked at a brickyard for some time and enlisted in October 1940.  He left Australia in April 1941 for the Middle East and has seen service in the Middle East and Syria.  Returned to Australia in March 1942.
