Son of John Edwin and Elizabeth Searcy, of College Park, South Australia.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Searcy, of College Park and Victor Harbor, have been advised by the Minister for the Army that their elder son, Pte. Maurice R. Searcy, previously reported  missing, believed prisoner of war, is now reported missing, believed deceased while a prisoner of war on or after July 1, 1942. Pte. Searcy was attached to the 1st Australian  Independent Company (Commandos), which was detailed for a special mission in Rabaul soon after Japan entered the war.
