News has been received that Private Frank Welburn, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Welburn, was killed in action in France on August 16. He was 25 years of age, and left here on March 9. He was bom at South Broken Hill, and educated at the Alma public school." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 18 Nov 1916 (
