Biography

Private Leo M Kavanagh, 8th Div A.M. Sub. Park, AIF of 37 Adam Street, Hindmarsh, aged 36. Married. Youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs F Kavanagh, of Croydon. Educated at St Joseph's. Followed football. In civil life worked in and around Hindmarsh. At the time of enlistment he was a porter at Calvary Hospital, North Adelaide. Enlisted in 2nd AIF in June 1940 trained at Wayville and transferred to Alice Springs for 6 months. Left Australia for Malaya on November 1941 and served his country there against Japan.

Died of Illness in Borneo 1945.
