Son of Henry George and Elizabeth Clara Henrietta Davidson, of Penola, South Australia.
Educated at Penola High Primary School he was a prominent player in the Penola Football Team for four years winning several trophies, and a member of the 3rd Light Horse in 1939. He enlisted in June 1940, and left for overseas in January 1941. He was reported missing in Malaya.
