Son of Mr and Mrs R.A. GLASS.
Residing at 116 Carrington Street, Adelaide, Stewart was educated at Mount Gambier and Unley Schools. He played football and was very fond of dancing and singing. In civil life he was interested in general storekeeping and baking and cool drinks business. For many years he worked at Glass' Carrington Street shop. Enlisting in July 1940 he left Australia for the Middle East and fought through the desert campaign up to Tobruk, then back to Palestine and Syria.
