Service history
In 1940 Ted enlisted in the A.I.F. in the 2/8 Field Ambulance and after training in Australia was sent to the Middle East War Zone. Ted served at Tobruk, El Alamein and Syria and later saw service in New Guinea and Borneo. Because of his band experience, he became a member of the Unit Bagpipe and Bugle Band - the only one of it’s kind in the A.I.F.
