Elliot Mcdonald Patterson was born on 25th of October 1914 in Williamstown, South Australia. He was distinguished by his brown eyes, auburn hair and a scar on the right side of his forehead. His residence was 480 Churchill Road, Kilburn, SA 5084, previously Chicago, Port Adelaide.
Patterson was married, with his wife Dorothy Margaret Patterson listed as his next of kin. He worked as a Labourer before enlisting on the 23rd of June 1940. His enlistment took place in Wayville, SA with Kilburn recorded as his locality of enlistment. He served in the Middle East and on Australian soil.
