Son of Walter William and Corris Grace SCOTT of 1 Honeyton Street, Seaton Park, SA. Educated at Seaton Park he played football for Seaton Park Club and was captain of the team. On leaving school he joined the staff of Colton Palmer & Preston Ltd. and was with the company for several years. He enlisted in June 1940 and trained at Cheltenham and left Australia in November 1940.
