Son of Mrs. M COCKS and the late F.C. SMITH of 24 8th Street, Port Pirie.  Educated at the Port Pirie West Public School, in civilian life Leslie worked in the B.H.A.S. Smelters.  He enlisted in May 1940 and saw service in Tobruk, Palestine and Syria.
