Sergeant Clifford George Pridmore (Service No:SX5586) enlisted in the AIF on 17 June 1940, and was a Private attached to 2/6 Field Ambulance when he embarked with his Unit from Melblourne for the Middle East on 29 December 1940. Returning to Adelaide on 18 March 1942, Private Pridmore was attached to Australian Advanced Depot Medical Corps as a Surgical Instrument Mechanic then Clerk, promoted to Corporal (Storeman) in 1943 and to Sergeant in June 1944. Sergeant Pridmore was attached to 2/6 Field Ambulance at Discharge on 30 January 1945.
Youngest of four children (two surviving infancy), Cliff was born in Brompton Park in Adelaide, South Australia in 1906 to William Morris Pridmore (b1863 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Alice Eliza Denney (b1865 in Sussex, England). William and Alice married in 1898 in Prospect, and settled in Adelaide where they raised their family and William was a Driver until his death in 1914.
Cliff worked as a Salesman in Adelaide and, in 1928 in Hindmarsh, married Ivy Newman (b1909 in Adelaide, South Australia). Cliff and Ivy settled in Adelaide, where they raised their family and Cliff worked as a Salesman and Sales Manager (Surgical Department). Cliff died in 1973 and Ivy in 1983.
