Alfred Allen BROWNE, born 18th July 1887, Richmond, Victoria, Church of England, 29, Staff Sergeant Major, A&I Staff. NoK Wife, Mrs Mary Browne, 125 Orrong Road, Elsternwick, Vic. Enlisted as Lieutenant on 23 February 1916. Promoted Lieutenant 1 May 1916. Returned to Australia on 10 September 1917. Disembarked Melbourne 13 Nov 1917, appointment terminated 5 April 1918. Died 30 September 1953, late of Caulfield. Service 2 October Springvale.

BROWNE - On Sept 30 (suddenly) at his home, 1 Morrice Street, Caulfield, Major Alfred Allen Browne, OBE, dearly loved husband of Mary, loving father of Alma (Mrs. Tilley), Nancy (Mrs. Millard), Constance, Kenneth and Allen.  Late 1st and 2nd A.I.F. and A.I.C. (no flowers by request).
