Enlisted Under Alias John Clark
Andrew Patrick Frawley was born on 2 August 1880 in Stanthorpe. He was working as a Labourer in Normanton when he enlisted under the name of John Clark on 26 Dec 1914 aged 34. He was a Private in the 5th Light Horse Regiment leaving Australia on 9 February 1915. He served in Egypt, Malta and Gallipoli suffering a bullet wound to the hip. He was invalided back to Australia on 2 March 1916. After the war he returned to the Atherton Tablelands where he also used the name John Frawley. He was a War Pensioner when he died in the District Hospital, Mareeba on 18 January 1941 aged 60. The funeral was conducted with military honors and members of the R.S.S.I.L.A. attended.
