Fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs W. FRANCIS of Rosewater Gardens, SA.
Husband of Mabel Daphne FRANCIS of 117 Junction Road, Rosewater, SA.
Before enlisting Gordon was the assistant operator at the Majestic Theatre for S.A. Film Company. He was fond of swimming and football. He went into camp in June 1940 as a member of the 8th Field Ambulance and was later transferred to the 2/48th Battalion and left for overseas in November 1940. Gordon spent 7 1/2 months in Tobruk and returned to Australia in March 1942.
