Sydney Roache was the Platoon Sergeant of 18 Platoon, D Company, 2/27th Battalion from 1943-45; his Platoon Commander was Lieutenant Robilliard and his Corporals were 'Spud' Sutcliffe, Colin Hughes and Arthur Brooks.
