On June 8th, 1940, William Malcolm Leopold enlisted in the Australian Army in Adelaide, South Australia.

Born in Hawker, South Australia on September 22nd, 1906; at the time of his enlistment, he lived in the inner Adelaide suburb of Gilberton.

Identifying as a Protestant, Leopold was 33 years old, a section manager and living with his wife Ruth Ellen Leopold.

On the 10th of June 1953, William Malcolm Leopold discharged from the Army and was living in East Malvern, Victoria.

At some time, he and his wife Ruth, moved back to South Australia.

Leopold lived until he was 95 years of age. His wife Ruth lived until she was 93 years of age.
