Son of John M EVANS of Balaklava and now Croydon, SA.  Henry was married with four children and resided at 39 King Street, Solomontown when he enlisted.  Educated at Balaklava Public School, he played football for St. Mark's Team, Port Pirie.  In civil life he was employed as a labourer at the B.H.A. Smelters, Port Pirie.  He enlisted in May 1940 at saw action in the Middle East, Palestine, Egypt and the Syrian Campaign.  Two brothers Bill and Jim Evans fought in the Great War.
