Biography

Pte. Walter Kelsey Rowland 2/27th B Coy AIF of 276 Military Road Henely Beach. Aged 24. Second son of Mr and Mrs W H Rowland of Henley Beach. Educated at Thebarton Public School gaining his QC., also a Woodwork Certificate. Fond of sport, football and races. A driver in civil life. Enlisted in 2nd AIF in May 1940, and left for overseas where he say active service in Palestine and Syria. Returned to Australia and went to New Guinea. Reported killed in action there on September 9th 1942.
