Son of the late Mr and Mrs A REID of Croydon, England. Married with one son and residing at 6 Third Street, Port Pirie West, Ernest was educated in Croydon England before he moved to Australia. Employed at the B.H.A. Smelters, Port Pirie he enlisted in January 1940. Ernest served in Crete, Tobruk and Syria. His father was killed in the Great War.
