Sergeant Kathleen Job (Service No:VF346759) enlisted in the Australian Army on 3 April 1942 and was attached to NSW Lines of Communication Area LTD when she Discharged on 13 March 1946.
Born in 1922 in Adelaide South Australia, Kathleen was the fourth of five children of Spencer Roy Job (b1889 at Yunta, South Australia) and Madeline Ruby Green (b1883 in Melbourne, Victoria. Spencer (a Hotel Licensee) and Madeline married in 1914 at Port Pirie in South Australia. Spencer was a Hotel Licensee/Publican and the family lived in Port Pirie (Barrier Hotel), Wallaroo (Coruncopia Hotel) and Adelaide (Supreme Court Hotel) before moving to Melbourne, Victoria. Spencer served in WWII (Staff Sergeant: Service No:V10592) and was on board the Montevideo Maru in 1942 when the ship sank and all PoW's on board died.
Kathleen was in Melbourne, Victoria when she enlisted in 1942, and following her discharge, worked as a Physiotherapist. In 1952 Kathleen left from Adelaide SA for London on board the Mooltan, returning in 1954 on board the Largs Bay. Kathleen died in Adelaide in 2015.
