WO2 W A Noble of Lock Street St Kilda Victoria, aged 25. Son of Mrs and the late Mr G A Noble of 39 Marlborough Street Brighton, SA. Educated at Brighton Public School and Scotch College, Mitcham. Keen on all sport, especially cricket and lacrosse. In civil life a member of the firm A Noble & Son Ltd. and was employed in the Melbourne branch. Enlisted in 2nd AIF in May 1940. Was wounded in action during the Syrian campaign came home on leave in March 1942 and was sent to New Guinea where he was killed in action on September 11 1942.
