Add my storyBiography contributed by Judith Walker
Bill was born Purnill Ottis Seidel in Germany to Rudolf Seidel and Teischke Gritschke. He seemd to have an intersting life of which only a portion is known. He came to Australia on a tramp steamer, jumped ship in Adelaide, changed his name and at some point made his way to Sydney. At the outbreak of WW2 he enlisted in the Army under the name of William Winter. He served in the Middle East and New Guinea with my father. After the war he made his way back to Bulolo, New Guinea and this is were my association with "Uncle Bill" began. For the next 20 odd years we resided in Bulolo before returning Australia permantely.
RIP Bill
