Bill Graham was hit by a bullet and died soon after during a Turkish attack on the 1st Light Horse at Romani near the Suez Canal. His younger brother 2680 Pte. Robert Colin Graham 56th Battalion was killed in action three days later, some 4500 kilometers away in northern France on 7 August 1916.
