A gentleman with a heart
I recall as a child talking to Uncle Fred about his experience in the war - he did not talk about it often.
He was a kind man who gave me big hugs. He explained to me how he had come across a German soldier who was wounded and calling for a drink of water - he bent down and held his canister to his lips. I was amazed after all this was the enemy he was helping and didn't think I would do this - to which he said "yes you would" he could be your father, your brother, your uncle"
You were honorable, you were precious Uncle Fred.
