Edmund (Ted ) Gabriel's enlistment interview was in Sydney Nov 1939. Commencement of training January 6 1940 no. 4 E.F.T.S Mascot. Date of Commission was 4th may 1940.

Ted married Adella and raised 2 children, Ted was a passionate ameteaur radio enthusiast and photographer. Ted flew for Qantas Empire Airways for a period and then worked for Emergancy Services. He also received the National Medal for diligent long service to the community in hazardous circumstances.
