"Robert (Bob) Moncrieff was born in New South Wales on 17 December 1944. He enlisted in the Army on 21 April 1964 and was allocated to the Royal Australian Infantry. He underwent SAS selection in 1965 and was posted to SASR on 21 April 1965. Bob came from the 2nd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment with the rank of Private on posting to SASR. Bob was presumed drowned while attempting a crossing of the flooding Sekayan River in Borneo during a four-man reconnaissance patrol on 21 March 1966 and was declared missing in action. His remains were located and repatriated to Australia in 2010. Bob’s next-of-kin at the time of his death was his father." - SOURCE (www.australiansas.com)
