Peter Fleming ABERCROMBIE was born in Cessnock, NSW on 12th August, 1917

His parents were William ABERCROMBIE & Jean Jarvie FLEMING of Brooks Parade, Belmont, NSW.

Service jeep 212432 driven by 60206 F/Sgt. Ashton B.R.E., overturned between 1745 and 1800 hours on 02 January 1945 on the Pitt Town Road approximately 1/2 mile from McGraths Hill. As a result Flight Sergeant Ashton and the following airmen, passengers in the Jeep sustained injuries  37325 Cpl. Cox, G.D., 143783 AC1 Davidson, R.C., 13223 Cpl. Boulton, G.S., 126385 LAC Smith, G.L.   Injuries sustained by 72179 LAC Abercrombie, P resulted in his death at 0030 hours on 03 January 1945.
