Son of Thomas Joseph and Jean Ahern, of Mitchelton, Queensland.

Casualty - Repatriation; Aircraft - Anson A4-20; Place - Ballina, New South Wales; Date - 22 May 1944.
Crashed At Knockrow Post Office on the Pacific Highway 10 Miles North of Ballina, NSW During A Training Flight.
Edmund was one of four RAAF members who lost their lives on a flight from Brisbane to Evans Head, when their plane crashed near Knockrow.
The crew members of A4-20 were:
