Lindsay Steele Aldous served as Leslie Aldous. He was born in 1923 and adopted by Henry Oswald and Lillian Aldous of Bondi in New South Wales. His Foster Father was listed as his N.O.K. Leslie as he was known, was a farm labourer. He was mobilized in 1941. Leslie was the natural son of Murial Sinclaire Steele. His natural fathers name is not recorded.
N109651 Sapper Leslie Aldous served in 60th Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Coy RAE. He was bathing in Lane Cove River in Ryde when he drowned. The Coroners Enquiry held in the Ryde Court House, found that his death was accidental.
N109651 Sapper L. S. Aldous RAE was buried in Botany General Cemetery. "A Good Soldier" is his epitaph. Lest We Forget.
