Axel Henning ANDERSON was born in Sandgate in Queensland on 29th November, 1918

His parents were William Axel ANDERSON & Abigail BUCHANAN who married in Caboolture, Queensland on 30th October, 1915

He had previously served in the 22 Heavy Battery, RAA (SN 403298) as a Gunner & was discharged on 28th March, 1938 before joining the RAAF - he embarked from Sydney on 31st October, 1940 for Canada, UK and the Middle East
