Corporal Reginald Applebee was the son of Clarence AJ and Martha Applebee. He was an Apprentice Motor Mechanic, enlisting on 29 November 1942, and served in Australia with the 2/118 Brigade Workshops. Cpl Applebee saw service in Australia and was sent to New Guinea in August 1943. He returned to Australia with appendicitis at the end of April 1945 and returned to Moratai at the end of June 1945. On 26 July 1945 he sustained severe injuries which necessitated part of his right leg being amputated, but he sadly died of his injuries on 18 August 1945.
